COP29 Kick Off Meeting in London

On February 23rd the British Chamber of Commerce Azerbaijan (BCCA) hosted a one-of-a-kind event in London dedicated to COP29 with the support of the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, BDO in Azerbaijan (Yunis Salayev), Howden (Anthony Hobley, Rowan Douglas CBE), Climate Action (Nick Henry).

Prime Minister's Trade Envoy Baroness Emma Nicholson of Winterbourne opened the event with His Excellency Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the UK Elin Suleymanov. COP29 Azerbaijan Chief Operations Officer Ms. Narmin Jarchalova presented current plans to the participants and invited them to join the upcoming Conference in Baku.

During the event, we greeted COP experts - Miranda Barker OBE CEO of East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, Nigel Topping, CMG UK's UN Climate High-Champion, and Stuart Brocklehurst Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Exeter, John Patterson, as well as major COP29 Azerbaijan adjacent figures - Ulvi Mansurov, PhD, MBA CEO of "AZERBAIJAN INVESTMENT COMPANY" OJSC and Zohrab Gadirov Deputy Executive Director of Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan – AZPROMO who introduced the renewable projects and investments in Azerbaijan, such as the special economic zones, smart cities, and solar and hydropower installations.
